Baird threw the shot put ball at a distance of ten feet and four and one half inches. Baird has competed in the games for 15-20 years. In August of 2015, Baird had open heart surgery and remained at Presbyterian for nine weeks from infections. Despite his struggle to regain his health from the surgery, he was determined to compete in the games this year.
